View attachments in transactions

This article covers the new ability to review and upload attachments directly within generate.TAX, eliminating the need to open Xero during the VAT return process. It highlights how this update streamlines review workflows, reduces system switching, and supports faster, more efficient VAT return submissions.

1) Open a VAT Return and go to the Transactions tab.


2) Next to each transaction you will see the attachment icon which will check for any attachments on Xero once you click on it.


3) A side panel will open with any attachments and an option to Upload an Attachment is also available. This attachment will be uploaded directly to Xero as well.


4) The attachment will be uploaded and shown on the side panel. You can attach multiple documents by clicking on the Upload Attachment button again.


5) You have the option to view all attachments by clicking the arrows, which then allow you to rotate, download, and print the attachments.


6) The orange dot will show after we check and find a linked attachment.
