Tax submission - Refresh transactions after editing in Xero

This guide will show you how to refresh the data once you edit transactions in Xero, whether it is an incorrect tax rate, need to adjust the value of a transaction, or make other changes.

1) Once you have completed a tax return mapping and generated a new Tax submission you are able to edit transactions directly in Xero through generate.TAX.

Warning
This functionality is only available for open submissions and will not impact any returns that have already been submitted.

Data on generate.TAX can be refreshed whenever updates occur, whether through edits in generate.TAX as per this guide or changes made in Xero.


Editing a transaction

2)  Navigate to the Entities tab, choose the entity and click to view any open submission.


3) Go to the second tab for Transactions.


4) You can Search for any transaction or otherwise find the transaction in the list.


5) Click on the Xero icon image next to the transaction you would like to edit.


6) You will be prompted to sign in to Xero, after which you can make the necessary changes directly in Xero. Once you're done, simply click Save.


Refresh for Edits

7) Once in the generate.TAX tab, click on Refresh so data is updated and any additional transactions are populated.


8) It is important to Save the VAT return once changes are done.


Export transactions

9) You can Export Transactions to Excel or PDF.
